Thumbs up How can i get more Hp for less $$$$

Haha hey guys its the guy with the trans prob haha. If you read my thread on forced induction, im trying out if the solenoid thing is true so im resetting the car tommorow.

Anyway, I got a 92 sc400 and its pretty much bone stock. Now ive seen all the nice cars but im just a high school kid with a minimum wage job. Is there any way to get more power using less cash? I know supercharger/turbo will make it quick fast but, i dont have 1000$ for it.

So far the mods i have are, sports bra for the front, and stock lexus rims.
ill have more pics up later but yeah for now, i just need help performance wise on how i can get more bang for the buck.

oh yeah and if you think im just a spoiled high school kid who didnt earn what he got, let me show you my other project i worked on and did with my own money haha. Yeah its not a lexus, but i did work hard on it.

02 civic dx. lambo doors, and turbo. Has 376hp but i wanted a RWD so now im starting on a new project, which is my SC. But now, im dead broke which is why i need tips on getting more power from my lexus. Im only used to hondas and what not.

And no, im not a ricer.

Anyone else got pics of their old rides? lol. i hope im not the only one transferring from a honda. XP

Having a bra and stock lexus rims are not mods.
Having a civic w/ lambo doors...some would consider that to be a "ricer".

There are plenty of threads about inexpensive horsepower gaining mods. Just do a quick search and you'll find it.

build the majority of your parts...thats what i do. i fabricate everything i can, manifolds, exhausts, catch cans...etc. many items inevitably have to be bought such as the majority of electronics (those too can be built too but take a lot more skill),turbos, and cams but remember that sometimes its the small things that count. lowering not only helps turning, but it aids in gas mileage, acceleration and braking.

... long story short, see what you can build and do what streamline said

Save your money and wait till you can afford turbo/ supercharger. Till then... live with what you got.

hey, i also am in Vegas... what part of town are you in?

I work for Ted Wiens Tire/Auto, so if you need work done, let me know, I'll see what I can do...

Also, there is nothing cheap about these cars... on a budget, a good, custom exhaust would be great, and within a couple months, I will have a welder, and might be making some myself, I'll keep you updated on that...

other than intake / exhaust, nothing is cheap... to get major power out of these cars, a turbo kit (I am still contemplating on fabbing one up myself), or a 1jz swap are your only real options... a supercharger kit is $5k plus, which to me is super expensive...

then don't take the ricer way when trying to build hp. you're in a much differenct caliber of car now, time to learn patience and how to build it right the first time.

lextreme torque converter is cheap and exhaust perhaps. nitrous is a huge power additive.

Fast and cheap won't be reliable.
