Default Unichip anyone??

has anyone tried Unichip as there engine management?? i was just curious, here's the site for it.. www.unichip.us ...even though it's not plug n play but they told me they have a Q chip #9910020 and Q+ chip #9910021 that can be hard wire into your stock ecu for a SC300, the only dirrefernce between those 2 i think is that Q+ has more options then just Q.. i also don't know how much these things cost and if it's good for tuning an turbocharged SC's..

don't bother unless ur unichip dealer is willing to start a whole new map. when i had my sc4 done, we first went through the hassles of getting the right box. first it was the Q box then A box and then finally the C box. When we first got the Q box, the car wouldn't start at all, turns out there is no map programmed for our cars in there so a map has to be created from scratch. When I finally got a hold of the right box, the tuner wired it in and when we tried to tune it, for some reason they could not get it leaner than 11.5:1. This was disappointing as it led to a check engine light at low throttle points. So unless you have an exception unichip tuner to do the work, forget it. The gains can be had as when mines was dyno'ed the gain was 30rwhp with a/f and timing tune compared to just the 20rwhp i gained from a safc2 tune.

Check with the guys on PlanetSoarer...Peter Scott did a whole write-up on the UniChip. They have used it on several V8's there, with apparent great success....
