Default Great... car wont start

I just had work done on the car. A freezer plug went bad and the engine was steaming. Had that repaired and 3 days later the temp gauge started to rise. To make a long story short, My mechanic told me i needed a radiator and water pump. The coolant in the radiator went back to brown and I drove the car constantly lettin it cool and puttin in water in the radiator until it almost overheated and it shut it off. But I forgot to open the hood so it can cool down quickly. The next day I go to start the car and it wouldnt start. It was grinding pretty hard but wouldnt turn over. I tried today and it felt a little better but still not 100% however it wouldnt start. Did the engine seize? I have oil in there tho. Please tell me I need another engine so i can get a low mileage 2jz for na-t or get a 1j lol
