Default 92 SC400...removing just the resonator???

Hello all,
I did a search and was not able to find my answer. I was hoping someone can either link me or give some more information.

I have seen/heard a video clip of an sc400 with cat removed and new dual piping from header to stock exhaust. It sounds nice. Kind of like a ferrari. I love that sound.

I dont want to remove the cat due to emission issues. If I just remove the resonator and put a straight pipe with stock exhaust, would it even sound a little louder? I looked under the car and the resonator is so small. Has anyone done this or know of a link to any video clip? Thank you so much.

I have a sc300 and removed my resonators and kept my cat. I also added some magnaflow mufflers. If you remove the resonators, it will be louder.

I have a few vids in my link to my myspace....you can watch them there, first is without center cat, second without the mufflers, third no mufflers no resonators, no center cat, so you have precats left. And 4th is straight piping from where the center cat used to be. Hope thats of some help to ya. Also we have 2 resonators, 2 small precats, one normal cat, and 2 mufflers. Order from headers go: Precats, cat, resonators, and then mufflers.

Ditch the resonators, get high flowing cats (magnaflow) and high flowing mufflers and you will still pass the smog emissions...Get power and sound....You will never get that Ferrari sound but you will get that Camaro, 5.0 Mustang sound...

My buddy replaced the resonators from his sc4 and I have the same done to my sc3. Don't expect much difference on a sc3 as it is only noticeably louder and still quieter than say a 350z but the sc4 sounds amazingly good with no resonators and stock mufflers. I would say the sc4 sounds like a cross between and 350z and a Mustang GT at WOT but very quiet under normal driving. Cost should be around $40-60 to have pipes welded in place of the resonators.
