3vzfe to 1mzfe conversion / SWAP
I purchased a 92 es300 3VZFE (150K) that developed a severe rod knock after a lady drove it without changing or checking the oil.
I purchased a whole crashed 95 camry with a 1MZFE that runs perfect, like new, awesome, on ebay cheap, and I want to install it in the 92 es300. My main concern is the instrument panel, the old car is not perfect but the speedo etc. , and the climate control need to work. has anybody done the swap?
I know I can get the engine running and driving, the rest is up in the air...I think even the cooling fans are operated differently,
I also was contacted by a guy about a 93 camry with 225k miles on it and I bought that too, but the 95 has half the miles and smokes the tires like a good running one does . the 93 runs but has a minor top end noise until warmed up, if I put in the 3vzfe with 225k I will just sell it when I am done, I want the 1mzfe in there to keep it around awhile to play with it, do a few mods ...
I also know typically the 1mzfe es 300 s were victim of cheep lease programs (299 in Tampa if I remember right) that some people that had just enough to make the payment but do no maintenance were leasing them causing them to be sludge pits and fail, or smoke at start up, so if you have one of these I will sell or trade you this a-1 running 1mzfe and trans for the cost of a decent mileage, (regular oil changed 3-5k miles) 3vzfe. JDM engines seem to be around 750 plus shipping unless I sell this one first there is now way I will pay that much for one, if you want this project or to make a trade, make me an offer...12-08-06

wrong section, but it has been done before. I used to have a 4th gen camry with the 1mz TRD supercharged and I knew a guy out in melbourne who did the swap on his gen 3 camry. He put a 1mz in it and went turbo insead... If I recall, both motors should be really similar to one another so I wouldnt figure it''d be to much of a hassle to pull off...
