Default standalones (1uz-fe)

what are the options for standalones for the 1uz- 2uz-fe's?

are the LS400 and SC400 wiring harness/ECU the same?

From all the research I've done, there aren't many standalones designed to control an engine with an automatic transmission....

Motech makes them, though I haven't heavily researched the products they offer, but be ready to spend $3000 and up on a standalone that can control the 1UZ with an auto---

OR-- Do a manual swap and somehow pull it off for $1500 if possible, and get a Perfect Power PRS8 standalone for $1200--

That's one of the least expensive standalone's available, and the company is reputable....

This combo with a light flywheel would make a modded 1uz SC400 m/t a true sports car and would be a lot of fun to drive..

Not to mention power loss is less through a manual tranny-- about 5% or so less.... or about 15 hp when you're at 300 at the crank...

That would be 250 at the wheels for the standard mod list plus a manual tranny... {tex headers, reground exhaust cam, BFI, piggyback tune, full custom exhaust} Plus, you could throw in a supra TT a/t lsd, raise the rev limiter to 8000 rpms, and do a crazy aggressive tune with a manual tranny-- The peak power with those mods goes up even more and finally falls off around 7500 rpms--

That would be a fast car-- probably able to run mid/hi 13's

www.1uzfe.com also has a lot of good performance links from his page to a lot of guys that have done swaps into dirt track cars and other various cars, such as a Ferrari F40 replica-- with a TT 4.0 , a porsche 944 with a 4.0 swap, etc..

This guy has tons, absolutely tons of good links on swapping the 1UZ which will inherently be a good info. source for standalone management and tuning...

thanks a lot guys.. excuse me for not posting it in the right section

i plan on using the supra getrag 6spd.. those are bullet proof and probably good for 1200+whp (with the right clutch).

would a LS400 1uz-fe wiring harness and SC400 wiring harness the same or are they different?

The engine harness is most likely Identical or near identical as far as function, but lengths of wiring may differ--

As the engine and trans is identical except for exhuast manifolds, it would lead me to believe as such.
