1.5 jz? on 92 sc

Thumbs up 1.5 jz? on 92 sc

theres a lot of posts all over about 1.5jz's mostly overseas where people have 1j's and up grade the block but what about na 2jz-ge's i read that we dont have oil squirters but so what people na-t all the time what i want to know is what has to be done to get the 1jz head running on my 5spd 92 sc300, everyone says it just bolts on but what about sensors, maf vs map does it require wire/ ecu changes or do sensors plug in or swap off? please let me know i have a 1j turbo mani already that i was going to retro fit flanges on but some one on the forum has head and i/m for sale and i want to know what is involved in the swap itself not an argument about heads flowing and which is best, thanks

you will need the 1j computer and harness for head and misc stuff like downpipe oil lines etc..

Going 1.5J on the stock 1J ceramic twins will kill them pretty quick.

? why would it kill them im only looking for stock or maybe +1 or 2 lbs boost level nothin crazy

the power gains between a 1jz and 1.5jz are little to none. i'd personally either do a 1jz or just man up and do the 2jzgte swap.

Well that has more to do with the turbos choking the airflow and not the motor itself I'd bet a nicely sized single would be nice.

Though, if you're good with wiring, the 2jz-gte swap is not hard to do either. Mainly involves changing out a few body harness plugs. I think the relaybox plugs are similar if not the same.

check out the MKIII section of Supraforums if you're really interested in a 1.5JZ.

Hamm ( think is how it's spelled ) built up a pretty nice 1.5J and he should have quite a good write up about it.
