Default Help with ignition coil...

I put new ignition coils on my SC400 and the car performs almost new. Problem is I didn't take the driver side coil off. It is still on the the little bracket. I can not get this off. I have the new one dangling.. not a good look. Any suggestions? Would there be any harm if I chipped away at the plastic on the coil to get to the screw? or is that a no no..... Thanks in advance.
