my street/drag sc300 fuel setup
More information on this setup can be found at www.2jzpower.com
Here is what has been done so far: 1. removed all trunk trim 2. removed stock fuel tank 3. removed all stock fuel lines 4. cut out the entire square area of the spare tire area 5. installed 1/8" thick aluminum sheet (32"x41") 6. cut out hole in middle of aluminum "floor" for tank to drop in 7. the tank I had a custom flange welded on top so it could "drop in", and also replaced the dual -8AN outlets with a single -12AN outlet. The pump thats going in is a Weldon 2035A, with dial-a-flow, big aeromotive fuel filter, weldon regulator. I'll take more pics as i start plumbing up the fuel system. http://2jzpower.com/pictures/Joel_Gr...20(Medium).jpg http://2jzpower.com/pictures/Joel_Gr...20(Medium).jpg http://2jzpower.com/pictures/Joel_Gr...20(Medium).jpg The motor is stock bottom end 2JZ-GE with GTE internals. GT42-71 turbo with large exhaust housing (t6) custom built by the first owner of the car. Eventual plans are to build the bottom end (3.4L?) and do headwork and run a GT47-80mm turbo or similar. http://2jzpower.com/pictures/Joel_Gr...20(Medium).jpg http://2jzpower.com/pictures/Joel_Gr...20(Medium).jpg http://2jzpower.com/pictures/Joel_Gr...20(Medium).jpg this is my Kilgore Superlight TH400. Waiting on www.boostwerx.com to get me the flexplate and adapter plate and then it will be installed. http://2jzpower.com/pictures/Joel_Gr...20(Medium).jpg Things that need done yet: 1. fuel system plumbed. Install pump, filter, regulator, lines, fuel rail & 1000cc injectors. wire fuel system. 2. install AEM 3. install gauges, wires 4. install th400 trans, pound out trans tunnel, install shifter, fabricate transmission mount, install trans cooler/fan setup. 5. install supra tt auto differential. 6. fabricate new intercooler piping, install bigger intercooler. 7. fabricate radiator mounts 8. install higher wastegate spring (current is 8lbs) i think thats it, i bought this car about 2 months ago as a project car with plans on making big power and running quick ET's. When i bought it, it ran decent (drove home from 5 hrs from Southern VA) but the trans was not up to the task. the injectors (550cc) were also not up to par, so I bought injectors & fuel rail from www.boostwerx.com (DaveH). More progress should be posted soon! |
i still have the injectors in the stock fuel rail and i will sell them. they are for a 93 car so i am guessing OBDI
yeah, that radiator mount is sweet right? thats another thing I need to fab up. |
:drools: dude that looks sweet where in PA? I'll come help :)

I would know :) http://media.turbo6.net/.cl/turbo6-trunk1.jpg http://media.turbo6.net/.cl/turbo6-trunk.jpg I never saw anyone else do the same thing before. i did this on my 300zx about 2-3 years ago but ended up cutting the whole car apart for the 25.1e chassis.. notice i am re-using the fuel cell, i am using a 5 gallon one in my drag car now, so i get to use parts i originally thought i'd have to sell. http://s89053294.onlinehome.us/misc/...2/IMG_0036.jpg http://s89053294.onlinehome.us/misc/...2/IMG_0028.jpg heres how the car sits now... http://www.z32power.com/691094428141...4_(Custom).jpg drag car pics: http://www.z32power.com/691094428141...|69|&NodeID=70 |

woah nice! any rear shots?

I don't see how you are going to launch that and control the squat enough with any springs to keep from dragging that tank, it looks very low.

if it ever even comes close to dragging (its not as low as my exhuast)then i can move the "flange" to the middle of the tank height and it will raise it plenty. I am making the lines long enough so there is room for play in this area. BUT it would take a hellatious launch (like front wheels off the ground) and at the power level I will be at, i shouldnt be anywhere close to that... yet anyway. |
the blue car shown aboves tank hangs super low. about 2 or 3 inches below the bumper-bodykit and it has a rear lip that a couple inches below the stock bumper.. so it hangs pretty damn low. where are my damn pics of the rear??????????????
