Default Supra Swap Into Sc300

I know this is probably covered, but i need my questions answered. I gota friend of mine trying to swap a obdI supra TT motor/turbo's into his 1995 sc300 5spd. Now he told me that the computer harness is the same, its just plug n play except it needs to be relocated. He is basically getting full engine w/harness. So is this a direct swap? any splicing in the harness?

TIA

This is how you make that happen. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/search.php

There's nothing special about that question that wouldn't be covered.

well, if it's US spec motor with harness and everything, then some wiring is required to work, and there are some other things that needs to be done. search like OLT said

btw, if its jdm motor, good luck with plug and play wiring

I tried searching but theres nothing im looking for.
This is a US supraTT (left side driver) motor/wiring into a 1995 sc300 5spd. Is it as simple as popping in the motor, and extending the harness? Or is there plugs that have to be rewired/added. I will keep searching maybe ill run into something.
Thanks

The Supra harness will work, however, the stock Lexus ECU will obviously NOT work... it knows nothing about distributorless ignition nor turbo control... and, while the ECU connectors are identical between Supra and Lexus, most ALL of the other harness-to-body connectors are completely different (these will be the ones plugging into the Lexus on the side panel of the RH passenger compartment.

Make sure you keep the Lexus harness, because you will need to salvage those Lexus connectors and splice onto the Supra harness, along with making the 50 or so wiring changes to those connectors.

Phil pretty much answered the poster questions. In short, it’s not plug and play like what your friend assumes. No matter which harness, jdm or usdm, there will be wires that need to be spliced. Jdm harness will obviously need to be extended to reach the stock ecu location.
