Default overdrive or not

Alright when im racing my car is it best to have overdrive on or off.....trying to go to the track this weekend and i was just wondering whats better....thanks

I would suggest with the overdrive on. Overdrive off is good for engine braking.

If your drag racing, I doubt you'll never get up to the overdrive gear in a 1/4 mile

What kind of track are you going to?

If it's 1/4 mile, leave it off. You won't be needing that last gear nor will you want to waste time shifting to it.

If you're trying to break a land speed record on a 10 mile track, you may want that last gear.
