Default 1jz is up, exhaust quest

wow after 2 good weeks of hard work i finally get to experience the 1jz!!! give me sum time to post pics, but i got a quest first, im running stock exhaust w/o mufflers and its quiet when i get on the throttle and its idling, but when i drive normal and slow its really deep, plus i can tell its chokin the hell outa my 1jz. i was wondering if people can posts their exhaust experience on the 1jz, like they did this and this changed and then did that and this much changed. id luv to get as much info on this to save me swapping parts back and forth. kinda want to knowwhat combo i need to get a ferrari sounding car, haha. i mean i just want a car that isnt so loud it turns the cops heads, especially when im driving normal, but if i get on it i want a nice rumble, not a cracking sound. also numbers would be great, like swapping out for a high per. cat, or no cats at all, how much hp and sound change for each mod, thanks (BTW sorry to dissapoint but i lost to a MACH1 V8 mustang already dont worry though, ill catch him later this year)

you can run a Supra mkiv exhaust, it will need some work.
i'd save up the $ to at the same time make a pipe that removes the cat.

do a search and you'll know what's all involved to get the supra exhaust to fit.

i have it, and it seems to help in the higher RPM, waiting on a y-pipe, DP, and mid-pipe
i'm SURE after these it'll help

Where can I find a 3" downpipe for a 1JZ?
I've already got the 3" midpipe and 3" single exhaust....

TIA.

id also like to know. Im planning on getting a 1JZ in a few months as well. Im lookin for whatever is the "Stockest" looking and Quietest exhaust. Any ideas? I know an exhaust will help the 1JZ a whole lot, but theres no way I want that thing to sound any different then stock, so id be willing to keep the stock exhaust if there is no sleeper exhaust available.

Im scared of the LAPD....

since you can mod supra exhausts, check suprastore.com and look through their exhausts
I think there was one that had a 3 out of 10 for loudness.
i am using the Greddy Titanium, and it's quiet at idle, but as soon as you touch the throttle it's louder, and WOT gets pretty loud.

i do believe a 1jz MKiii DP will work
i know hks + megan make pipes for the mkiii, but they're midpipes i believe.
i'm curious how similar the exhaust routing is on the two cars.

hope this helps start some new findings

luv it, low & deep. pretty quiet considering the pipe diameters i'm running.
idle & highway cruise very tollerable. (dont have to up the radio) only drones
on the highway @ 2k / lugging the engine. gets muscle carish when your on it.
but even thats not that bad. similar to a hks superdragger on a supra.
i've had a few cops looking for all the noise (I run a open wastegate) get out
of the pedal & their looking @ other cars - not me. shes a sleeper & the exhaust
fits right in.

this vids hard to hear w/ the rollers. the first few seconds its on the floor, but
the wastegates still closed. thats the loudest it gets.

Any more votes for MKIII 1JZ DP and MKIV 2JZGTE Downpipes working on a Soarer 1JZGTE?

Looks like it's time to check out the parts for sale at Supraforums.
