What else is needed for the r154 swap?

If i have these parts, what else do i need for the swap.

bellhousing, core, tail, flywheel all from a soarer

i know i also need a clutch but what else do i need?

I have the w58 currently in my car
Thanks

pull-type slave cylinder
shifter assembly from soarer

oh, and a 7M clutch :p

sounds like u pretty much done though

rscott 05-14-06 06:59 PM

for the slave cylinder you can use an mkiii cylinder. youll also need the slave lines. you can make some from lines, fittings and the fitting tool from your local auto parts store. ive been told you can use the stock crossmember and rubber transmount but i havent been able to verify yet.

mrshabo 05-14-06 07:21 PM

do they vary by year or they are all the same? The tranny mount and cross member

mrshabo 05-16-06 07:11 AM

do i need a modified driveshaft?

ConSynX 05-16-06 08:50 AM

grab a supra mkiii front, use your stock rear. and swap the w58 center bearing over, and viola
i've had no probs yet.
sounds loose, but honestly, it HAS to be my exhaust leak, because it goes w/ throttle, whether engaged clutch or not.

consynx id still like to see some pics of how you "modified" the bearing. im glad to hear more people are starting to use this route.

ConSynX 05-16-06 10:30 AM

didn't modifythe bearing, just put the W58 one on the R154

got instructions on how to do it out of the repair manual.

do u just want a pic of the driveshaft?

96sc3 05-19-06 01:27 AM

what about the transmission mount? does the r154 line up to the w58 transmission mounting points?

Kilo 05-19-06 08:45 AM

So did you get it yet?

vipsoarer 05-19-06 08:55 PM

oh sorry about that i had thought i remembered in your post about it that you had to modify it a bit and didnt know if u had a pic. when i did the other one we had a ds built for ease of use and wanted a confirmation on what all was needed when i swap over on my car with the mixed part ds. thanks
