Default Exhaust making cracking noises after turning off?

Well I have a 1998 SC300 and noticed that when I turn off the car, the exhaust makes cracking noises like the metal is contracting. Is this normal on SC vehicles? It doesnt matter how long I drive the car, it will make that niose..It seems to be a little too loud to be normal. Any of you have this problem/sound?

Oh BTW, the exhaust system is stock along with everything else.

I have solved that problem 100%

1.) i installed some test pipes (got rid of the cats)
a. now this did help the crackling, but not all of it, id say around 45%

2.) remove every single WORTHLESS heat sheild on the exhaust system, then reinstall with those metal zip tie things used for intakes and pipes and stuff.
a. this got rid of A LOT of the noise and made me very happy!

good luck
