I guess it could be done but why go to a 2.0 liter 4 cyl. If anything put a RB in a SC body

I agree. That would be a much better plan.

Why a SR20??? it can only handle 500hp..and that's stretching it...you'd be replacing rings and valve seals every year. And a RB....Sure, If you like "next-to-impossible" wiring jobs?

For the money you would spend to stick a RB in your SC...You might as well go the 2jz route, with some cash left over for Single turbo, FMIC, and all the goodies.

I owned a S13, SR20 Red Top transplant , and still have a Black Top sitting in the garage. They are great engines for the 240SX or any RWD small car.

I wouldn't think of sticking one in a SC...also...SR20's dont fly real well with a auto trans.

Yea, 600+rwhp on a RACE motor. The 2JZ does that everyday in street trim and makes over 1000 rwhp in race trim. That poor SR is going to have some serious trouble trying to haul around a 3600lb car. Why would you possibly want to put a SR in when you have the 2JZ as a direct bolt-in option? Hell, you might as well put a B18C in it and make it FWD....those can make 600+whp too.

These questions always amaze me. "Does X engine fit in X car?". I guess people just don't understand that anything is possible as long as you have enough money. You can swap a geo metro motor into your sc if you wanted to .

Yes, I also think you should go with the RB motor. It was done to a Supra so Im pretty sure that with enough money it can also be done to an SC.

I know my facts....I also know what a SR20 can handle....I've even seen a 850hp SR20, that blasted the head in two on a 3rd dyno run....that motor had $13k in parts and engineering...It was not a daily driver....400-500hp is the most you can get out of that engine, without tweaking it to the point of no return....more than that....there wont be a single Nissan part left in it...it is all aftermarket guts...ie for the same money you can get a 2jz in the 600-700hp range that wont be on self destruct mode.

The point is...why would you cross-makes? When the 2jz is there....proven...abundant in parts...and not a wiring nightmare...I guess i just don't get it

But hey...I've got a 45k mi "black top" sitting on a crate in the garage I'll sell ya, and oodles of SR20 parts to go with it....cram it in a flippin Pinto if you want....

Sorry but putting a 4 cyl Nissan engine into a Toyota/lexus is blasphemous

Its a liger you know a cross between a lion and i tiger. GOSH!

this is why all the Muscle car guys dont understand imports. why would you want to put a smaller motor in? (save a few aplications) oh and putting a nissan motor in a Lexus is like puting a ford motor in Mopar. its just a sin. The car gods frown on such an act of Sacrilege

But ford/chevy cross motors all the time. Ive seen a few 240SXs with 2JZ swaps and that makes pretty damn good sense because on the stock twins they are running 11-12s, but a stock SR20 isnt going to push a SC to the 12 second range. Hell.....why even try the SR when you could put in the KA24 which is much cheaper to start with and the same amount of gayness.

ummmm... NO NO NO you don't really want to swap a sr into a sc it makes no sense, and a rb swap is better than a sr but the truth is you come out better with a 2jz, i mean one of my boys has the first rb swap into a 240 done in Jerzy and even he thinks putting it into a sc is a bad idea, for one the cost, parts are easier to come by for a 2jz, tuning because it is rare, and not to mention installation the wiring alone will make you want to give up even if you do get it mounted in and lined up
