need help obd2 to obd1 conversion

Default need help obd2 to obd1 conversion

getting ready to do the swap between my soarer and my sc300 and of course i completely forgot that my sc is obd2 and the soarer is obd1 the motor and engine wiring harness is out of the sc now and i plan on swapping all of it into the soarer and i have ems for the engine what problems am i going to run into with the rest of the wiring. basically ive got an obd2 motor and wiring harness with ems but im putting it into an obd1 chassis any one have any clue as to what i will run into?

i converted my sc na-t from obd2 to obd1, by changing the ecu and maf. so if your swapping those two items, you are good.

ok but with the engine harness there are 3 plugs into the ecu there are another 3 or 4 that plug into the car next to the ecu are these the same from obd2 to obd1??

if the ecu plugs are the same, i dont see why the body plugs should be different.

edit: before yanking the motor, compare the plugs. that will answer all questions about compatibility.

lol motor is already out of the lexus i guess i will just have to take the time to compare them if not i suppose im going to need some wiring diagrams and a couple of hours


but im running aem ems so the ecu part doesnt have any effect oh well ill update when i run into more problems thanks for the help

So you had an OBD-II car. Then you changed it to OBD-I by using an OBD-I ECU and MAF only? That seems far too simple for not a lot of people to be doing it.

In my case, in order to do the 1J swap into a 97+ car, all I have to do is swap the ecu to obd-I?

im sorry about hi-jackin this thread but... im goin to be putting in an OBD2 engine into my OBD1 car... in my head i think its a simple swap. do u guys have anything to add?

id like to do the EXact Oppisite form what you guys doing.. OBD1 to OBD2. with a jdm 2jzgte. engine obd1 car is a obd2. so you guys just swapped the ec and maf?.. i got a map sensor on mine..

with the obd2 to obd1 swap was it just plug and play? i just did the same swap in my 95 but havent gotten everything right yet.
