Default 1jz acting wierd :(

Washed my car today, as I was leaving, I take off and the car will only rev up to 2-3000 like it's in a cripled mode. The same thing happened about 3 weeks ago, changed the plugs and was running fine again. Well, I picked up a set of plugs, changed em out and nothing, still in the cripled mode, changed a 2nd time and same thing. So I decided to limp it back home, a couple of times when pushed on the gas it ran fine.

This is the 2nd time this has happened leaving the carwash Could it be water getting inside the intercooler?

The map sensor is about the only sensor on the engine that will make it run bad but still.. run. Make it watertight. I had my plug fall off one day, wow it ran like holy hell i thought i blew my motor. You have to change the plugs after it happens

I noticed the ignitor is pretty vunerable to moisture. It sits along the edge of the hood w/ no seal around it.

Few 1Js I got came with MAP sensor wrapped in a small plastic bag, to prevent it from acting up because of the weather/moisture/etc.
