Default GM T56 6 speed in SC300

Would anybody be interested in a kit for the SC300 5spds to convert them to the T56 6 speed all you would need is tranny and I supply the bell housing, clutch, flywheel, drive shaft, and shift linkages. I am working on a creating a kit for a lot less than the V160/161?

Here are some of the info I have found to this tranny!

Features:Benefits
Six-speeds: Applicable to a wide range of vehicles requirements
Strong! 85mm Center Distance: Rated to over 400-550 ft/lb depending on application!
Double overdrive: Provides extended ratio coverage and allows for closer ratio steps
Aluminum die cast housings: Lightweight, durable construction
Tapered roller bearings on shafts: Reduced noise and improved durability
Needle bearings under speed gears: Improves high speed performance and reduced shift effort
Advanced synchronizer technology:
* Powdered steel formed blocker rings: Consistency, high quality
* Organic friction material: Improved durability
* Double cone design: Lower shift effort and improved durability

Overdrive synchronizers placed on countershaft: Lower shift effort and reduced noise
Constant mesh, synchronized reverse: Positive engagement, improved durability and reduced noise
Internal, single rail shift system: Enhanced shift feel, improved durability
Integral clutch housing w/adapter ring: Increased driveline bending strength with mounting flexibility
Uses 4 qt of common Dexron III trans fluid: Easy to find, inexpensive

So what do ya'll think? I have been researching to find the right setup. Something that can handle daily driven, drag, drift, and road race, and the right gears to also handle some major high speed runs.

Opinions are always welcome!

Yes. I think your profitable sucess will depend on how cheap you can sell these "kits." But, I'm VERY interested to see if you can do it.

Here is the cost I figured

Drive Shaft: 350
Mounts: 50
Bell Housing: 150
Clutch: YOUR CHOICES OF GM/FORD clutches
Flywheel: Chromoly custom pieces 300

about 850-900 for the kit and then you supply the tranny and clutch i have seen trans go as low as $450 then the rest would need to be figured out.

Thanks dejacky any tips or ideas would help me.

1150 for this kit

WOW. If it can really be done for that cheap, and handle 500rwtq all day long, I will delay other upgrades and get this kit!

The only problem is if it's reliable at that power. The w58 can handle 500 rwhp too.. we know it won't for long though

I've looked into this before also and in the end the cost is almost the same as doing a V160 swap. Its a great option though since the availability is greater on the T56.

i am getting the bellhousing machined as we speak! They should be back in my hands in three weeks. Also our bellhousing will also use a custom adapter plate for the salve cylinder and use the stock slave cylinder with a steel braided clutch line allowing you to flip the slave cylinder around and use the stock one if you are manual.

A V8 swap is in the works the amount of time needed also to design the bellhousig would have to wait till the 2J ones are done.

Hold on strong guys pics are coming soon!

Thanks for the support. Us V8 guys get lonely and discouraged sometimes.
