either way, the tranny wont fit. The shifter assembly will come up through the radio. The tranny itself is the same but the whole shifter mech is different. The sc shifter sits a few inches back.

check the threads by VIPSoarer to see how to make the r154 fit.

You can buy a sc300 w58 for peanuts. I sold one for a $100 and another for $200.

ill buy one for 200 peanuts if you got a sc w58. :)

w58's are dirt cheap in the world of trannies, but if you are looking to make your car anything over 300 whp then i suggest the r154 as the other budget trans setup. see my sig for a how-to

they are cheap but if you live in hawaii like me shipping is killer. I have read your writeup and it is very informative and helpful. Thanks

vipsoarer Jan 17, 2006 08:34 AM

no problem. they can be costly but if you find one on one of the islands you can take it as your carry on if you buy a second seat, thats only like another 40 bucks depending on where ur coming from.

where in hawaii are you? i will be there in the early summer to hit up some skimboarding on kaui.

jayzsun Jan 17, 2006 05:44 PM

i wasnt aware you could do that, thanks for the info. I live on oahu and shipping for anything to the islands suck. Anyway have fun on your trip to kauai.

vipsoarer Jan 18, 2006 07:05 AM

no problem. i actually bought a couple things on the big island from a guy and flew them back to maui in a big box that was my "wife" so to speak. just bought an extra ticket.

thanks i will defn enjoy how beautiful it is there while also trying to get some skim boarding time since the surf is so low in the summer.
