Default Budget Cold Air Intake 2 - Total Spent $53.79

A few days ago I ordered a gs300 intake off ebay believing it would fit on my sc300
Then i saw $c300's write up on how to install it. I went to pepboys and bought a MAF Sensor Adapter part # 81412 and a 3"-3/2.5" coupler part # 8776. The install was fairly easy except the vac lines didnt really fit but you cant expect much from a $30 CAI.

Intake costed $29.94 Shipped - Ebay
MAF Adapter and Coupler costed $23.85 - Pep Boys or Autozone ( The maf adapters are cheaper at PB than at AZ but the couplers are cheaper at AZ than at PB )

End Result : Same result as intakes that cost 4x as much. Better throttle response at higher rpm's, Nicer exhaust tone and sucking sound, better mpg.

looks great, and its sure better than spending $240 for the Injen intake. only thing is that its not a cold air intake. its a short ram... technically. to be cold air, it would have to get air from outside of the engine bay... like the fender or front bumper opening.. ect. deffinately a great set up though. if you left the part from the factory intake that goes from the box to just under the headlight, that will help get some cool air up there to that filter.

Here is what mine looks like:

I've only had the Cold Air Extension on for about a year now but now Im thinking about replacing the first half like you did in your setup. Judging from what you said about it it seems to be a good deal. The reason I never replaced the top half is because I was told that if you remove the stock resonator something was supposed to happen I cant remember anymore its been so long. But yeah I think Im just going to go for it and see for myself. Great work! If the short ram sounds great imagine what a Cold Air Intake will do..Screeeeeeaaaamm!! Hahahah.

thats what im talking about. what exactly did you use there? just a 90 degree bend with a filter on the end? im assuming its not for the SC. im sure you will notice a difference when you replace the top half... that stok piping isnt that smooth.

I left the snorkel in. Taking it out would just have the intake breathe in hot air. I was going to convert the snorkel into a ram air setup but im going to sell my car soon and try to buy a later model gs300.
So far the intakes working great
