Swapping Spark Plugs Tomorrow
Heres whats happenin, when I start my car on a cold morning it only goes 5mph even if im flooring it. The problem goes away once the car is warmed up, would it be a wise decision to replace the fuel filter also? Im selling my car soon so I want it to run great for the new owner.

What does the fuel filter have to do with changing the spark plugs? I vote for getting the checked out by a mechanic and fixing whatever is wrong with it first since this will affect the value of the car most. After that if you have money and time left you can do some maintenence like spark plugs and fuel filter.

Changing the plugs and the fuel filter wil most probably, NOT solve your problem. Obviously your engine is getting spark.....it starts, it runs. Spark plugs aren't really affected by ambient temperature. How cold of a morning are you talking about? Did it drop to 20 below during the evening? Are you attempting to drive the car right after you start it?
I'm thinking this may have more to do with your transmission than your engine. Give us a more detailed description of what the car does.

Alright the hesitation starts if its around 15 or below outside and it only happens if I try to drive the car right after I start it. On start up the car sound like it's sucking in A LOT of air through the intake, that is why I think maybe the fuel filter isn't flowing well anymore. Once the car fully heats up the car runs fine. Im no mechanic, but im capable of replacing simple things on my own.

Your closed loop is acting funny. It might be a variety of reasons, but the first thing that comes to mind is either the car isnt getting enough fuel. Check your 02 sensors, MAF, and various other air components. Although what I would do is that it to your local Lexus dealer and have it checked there.

try resetting the ecu before you go to the dealer. this may solve your problem since it will allow the ecu to adjust to the change of the season. if it doesnt work, hey, atleast you tried and it only takes 5 min max.

Nope. Simple as pie. Either remove your main fuse from the fusebox, or what I like to do is remove the negative battery cable for a few minutes. Some people say 15 minutes. Up to you. Reattach or reinsert fuse and then drive the car like you stole it. The ECU will "remap" based on your driving style.

actually its in a warm up sequence where the motor measures the air going in and is on a set "closed loop" map but doesnt use the o2 until it reaches somewhere around 1/4 warm. (or somewhere around there i cant remember off the top of my head) once its 1/4 warm it starts to use the o2 sensor(s) in a real closed loop
