Default how much oil does your engine eat up?

Doing the pre-tests to see if my engine qualifies for turbo...

I'm estimating my oil consumption to be around 1 quart between oil changes...

I also noticed that it consumes at a faster rate when the oil is new... as the oil gets a little older... it doesn't consume it as fast.

I have no oil leaks... the engine feels like it runs strong

but man i'm just worried about the oil consumption

I diont thnk one quart is an awful lot but the real way to know is to check the cylinders themselves.

Do a compression test on each one at a minimum.
If you really want to check it out do a leak down test on each one as well.

I was losing about half a quart before the next oil change. Just a small rear-main seal leak.

okay... looks like i'll do leakdown test...

correct me if i'm wrong... but since a leakdown test will do more... a compression test won't be necessary?

and how much should I expect to pay for a leakdown test... and can I do it myself?

Yes if You do a leakdown test the compression test will not be Necessary The leakdown will probably run you a couple ***** of labors
