Angry Whistling intake

After a 4 hour drive yesterday my engine began to whistle, its VERY loud. I popped the hood and looked around for steam or anything, but theres no visual sign of anything wrong. The noise seems to become from right under the intake manifold. My question is: are there any vacuum hoses around that area that are known to crack, or is it possible that the intake manifold it self has a hairline crack that could be making that noise? My check engine light is not on, i dont notice any lack of power, my mpg has not changed. I thought I have had everything fixed on this damn car and stuff keeps on breaking!!

I hear whistling noises coming from the engine when I put the pedal to the metal. Is this the case for you too?

i know intakes can whisle when people try to get rid of the EGR system so maybe you have a crack in that system where it meets the intake. ? just a suggestion. good luck

is your filter bent at all? if so it can make the air being sucked in whistle against it.

the airfilter looks normal, i checked the around the intake for any loose pieces or cracks of any sort and found nothing. It quit whistling early today, but then started back up again later on. Im guessing its nothing to serious, its just loud and very annoying

sounds like you have times when the air is resonating when it hits the butteryfly. I hear this too, some days its more profound than others. if the sounds dont change (when it is occuring) then i wouldnt worry about it.

-Is your motor whistling some high pitch tunes to you?
-Have you just recently changed your spark plugs?
..If so It you be that you too forgot to use some of that gasket maker for the throttle body.

LOL.
It's a metal gasket, and after doing the plugs multiple times, the only thing that whistles is my blow-off. I don't think you need to do anything extra for the gasket.

Does it whistle when revving in neutral?

Definitely a vacuum leak. Get a piece of vacuum hose and put one end on your ear and use the other end to point to potential leak spots. My leak was a leaky gasket... quick fix with RTV blue.
