Welcome to CL lxsc. First I would like to point out the search function in the upper left hand side of every page. Most any topic you can think of has been discussed and you should be able to find the answers to most any question using it.

To answer this question, you will get conflicting info regarding this. Some people feel the K&N does result in performance gains, while others feel they don't.

Check www.planetsoarer.com for an interesting test of cold air intakes and "performance" filters.

Check here for a recently discussed test on different filters.

Also, search for K&N here on CL and you'll find dozens of threads regarding that product.

My feelings are that the aftermarket filters are more talk than show and I feel that the OEM Toyota filter flows just as well as a K&N. Stock filter coupled with a BFI is the way to go IMO.
