Default powdercoating vs. painting (engine parts)

Just wanted to get some info on these different processes. I was wanting to repaint or powdercoat intake pipes and valve covers on my 1jz. Any suggestions? Please post pics of both processes if you have them.

Thanks

if you have the money powder coating is the way to go. It stays on longer and looks so much more professional.

When you guys say polish, I assume hand or machine polish?? Cause theres also a powdercoat that is a polish finish.

It depends on the look that you are going for. Polished looks nice, but I personally like the look of a flat black on hardpipes. That's just my personal opinion though.

ya by machine comes out nice when it is done right. powder coating is nice also less maintence and it stay's shiney longer. polish if not taking care of gets dull after time. ya i have seen a powder coating finish and it looks really close to polish

That's what my plan is, to have the hard pipes powdercoated black and the valve covers either gunmetal or polished.

that has potential to look pretty sick I just like being different from the shiny bling in the engine bay. I'm not saying that I'm not one of the first people to drool all over a nice polished engine bay, I just like being a little different.
