hello all new to lexus few questions
first off wanted to say hello and thank anyone ahead of time for any help and information.
i am going to buy a 94 sc400 owner says motor is bad no other information.
questions are can you buy parts to rebuild the engine and do they make performance parts for it. I have a 98 Z28 that as of last year ran 11.4 in the 1/4 mile. The Z28 is getting a new motor so one of my options installing the LS1 that make roughly 420HP into the CS400. Another option is rebuilding the stock motor. This is why I am here.Since I already have a racecar I am not wanting to tear this car apart. I do like any other gear head want as much power as i can. I also need to know how strong the automatic transmission is. So any info on where to get a rebuild kit who makes tranny kits and any suggestions and input on my descision would be greatly appreciated. Also would like to see some pics of tricked out SC400 This is gonna be my nice day car so i will also trick it out a bit thanks Scott
PLease please don't flame me. I am here for help not to be bashed for my idea of possibly installing a no Lexus motor in a Lexus this is just an option. Just a bit about me so you can understand what i have available to me. One of my best friends owns a machine shop so all machine work is free for me so rebuilding the stock motor is not a problem and another real close friend of my owns his own custom shop which we just finished a truck for SEMA you can see the rendering of the truck in Sport Truck magazine this month it is the green 80 short bed on the cover and also on page 104 or 114 i believe.. I did all the LS1 work on the truck direct port nitrous installe and all Thanks again Scott

If you want to run 11s, 12s, the SC400 isnt the best way to go. A turbo'd stock inline six, or a 1jz/2jzgte motorswap will put you quickly into much faster times, and alot cheaper. For once in history, the V8 is slower then the 6 Crazy japs

If your friends can help you out, I think it would be great to see a LS1 in a SC. The engine that comes with the SC4 (1UZ) cant be made fast without serious $$$. If you can drop a LS1 in do that. Otherwise, find a SC300.
