TRD should work. I believe it was 95 that they switched the SCs to the newer style tranny. What you could do to find out is take off the trim plate and look at where the shifter bolts to the transmission abnd what kind of shifter it is. If it is the kind where a bolt goes through the bottom then the TRD will work. if it is a ball/socket type shifter then the TRD will not work.

C's short shifter should work, I think it's the supra application.

the C's shifter is the only on that i know of. unless you have the r154 tranny from the soarer, in which case the trd would work. there used to be on on ebay for like $60, but they were garbage... i snapped on in half shifting into second... and it wasnt that hard of a shift. its not easy to find ont that works for cheap, because there isnt one. we only have one option.

its not that easy with the shape of the shifter, and besides that, a shorter shaft does not make it a short shifter because the throw would remain the same.

exactly, which makes it completely pointless to cut your shifter except for aesthetic purposes. The whole logic behind a short shifter is to shorten the throw. So when people say they have a short throw shifter by cutting in half, and rewelding it - you really have a "Less Tall Shifter"

i dont care about shorter shaft. mine is perfect height. i can care less about shorter throws. the thing is i got a shift **** that wont fit because the shaft gets thicker about 1/3 way down. and i want a shifter that is the same size as the threaded part. i only know of 2 shifters, C's and TRD. and TRD is what i want. i just want to spend 300 for it
