Question Please Help

I have a '93 SC400 with 145,500 miles on it. It has run fine up until last week, when I noticed an unfamiliar noise coming from the engine when I hit the gas...kind of like a buzzing or a whirring (?). It started as a faint buzz, but now that the weather is getting colder, I hear it louder.
When I got my oil changed a few days ago I, asked themechanic what he thought. He said it might be a pulley but he wasnt sure because he wasnt a Lexus tech. I am up at college right now, and my Lexus dealership is a few hours away - but I will most likely find a dealership up here. Any ideas? Much appreciated.

i started hearing that too. it was really faint, and i kinda shrugged it off. however, it got louder and louder, until i was like "SOB something is wrong." then, i blew my lower radiator hose, lol. might wanna have that checked out. it didn't sound like a hose problem, but it was a buzzing that came on quietly at first.
