My 1997 Lexus Ls400 starts and then shuts down HELP!
 
I bought a 1997 Ls 400 recently, I have been trying to get it to run for about a week now. what will happen is I will turn it over it starts up and then shuts right down, it runs for approx 3 seconds each time every once in a while it will just spin and not start but eventully i can get it to run. I can rev it to 7k before it shuts down or gradually let it go up or let it idle but it shuts down like you are shutting off the key. Please help.

your in the wrong forum,but how many miles on the car?and when was the last time you had a tuneup?it might be that time sprkplugs&wires,air&fuel filter plus the distributor cap and rotor

my beater SC300 was cutting out, stalling, when driving down the road, but would idle fine. spark plug wire came loose. Start checking the simple things
