Default Soarer parts - which one's are good upgrades?

I am looking into soarer parts from japan.
I need to know what parts off a Soarer would be considerd upgrades for the SC300.

Do Soarers have LSD (LSD standard equipment?) rear ends(diff)?
What is the gear ratio of the diffs, same asSC300?
Is the 5 speed on the soarer a w58?
What about cosmetics, anything worth getting

The 5 speed transmission on the soarers is the famous R154 transmission. Apparently, it can withstand much greater power levels than the "dinky" SC300 5 speed transmission (aka w58). I would seriously envy you if you performed this transmission upgrade to a SC300 and chronicled the project with pics on CL .

Yeah definately the transmission (R154), they are very hard to come by here in the U.S. Or at least the bellhousing and tailshaft then you could use the r154 from a mkiii supra if you got those parts. Some like the Soarer steering wheel, they have the griffen on the horn pad/air bag. Rear glass, it has the rear wiper.

No no you're missing the main JDM Soarer upgrade... the 1JZGTE For a touch of novelty you can whack on the front griffin and rear T emblem plus Soarer badge, the Soarer steering wheel and JDM dash (if you're willing to find a way)... the TEMS struts would be an interesting thing to see on the USDM models... oh, and the rear wiper, can't forget that now!

i agree the most important upgrade will be the 1jzgte. i think that is enough to turn heads and to have braging rights on the street . just all depends on what you want, if you into the jdm look then of course rims ,badges and the famous wiper but performance hands down will be the 1jzgte motor swap

Soarers are available with Torsen LSD but they're rare factory options. If you need info on them search up A02B which is the diff code for the Torsen

THNX for the input guys.
Any other obscure parts I should know about?
I should be able to get just about anything off a Soarer I just need to know what to ask for.

Hmmm... if you really wanna go hardcore you can go to the extent of finding a wrecked Soarer and gutting it for all the parts? Then you'll end up with parts like sunvisors with Japanese writing on them (warning labels etc), factory grey or green tinted glass, the OEM fitted emergency flare etc...

Default Soarer

If you have any questions about a swap. Please feel free to ask me. I recently put a japanese spec 2JZ GTE in my 94 SC300. Plus a full line of HKS parts and TEIN Suspension, ect.

You were talking about a transmission, you shouldnt think about any other tranny except the 2JZ's GETRAG 6 SPD. It is one of the best transmissions ever built. It can handle anything you throw at it. I just went through a whole 4 month process of transforming this car into what it is now, so if you have any questions all be happy to help. James
