Default blinking OD off light

I had my '92 SC400 diagnossed today because the overdrive off light was blinking every 3 seconds or so once in drive for a few seconds. The code came back as the speed sensor module was dead. My guy quoted me a 100 bucks to replace it. Once he lifted my car up and shined some light on the sensor (driver's side near the front of the transmission) the real problem was discovered. All 3 of the wires were chewed through. New wire connectors and 15 mins later everything is perfect again. Makes me wish I had a lift in my garage.

Hopefully someone will find this info useful. That blinking light to me was light a kidney punch everytime it blinked.

Good info....looks like you had rodent damage??

My O/D light flashed on me awhile back and the car couldn't make up its mind on which gear it should be in. It was sourced to a broken O/D switch on the shifter....which was broken by the stereo shop guys who installed my pioneer deck....

It looked like a rat got it. My mechanic Ozzi's Atlanta Lexus Service said it is common to get rodent damage on a garaged car.. especially if you store dog food in the garage. Makes sense to me. I was happy to see that is all it was.
