spacer for timing belt cover

Question spacer for timing belt cover

how impotant is the spacer for the belt cover and where does it go ?help left over parts!!!!!!!!!

Dean, I've seen SC's (mostly turbo's) without the timing belt cover on at all, so I don't believe it's all that important in terms of drivability. But leftover parts are normally a no-no in my book. Can you post a pic of what you're referring to? I'm drawing a blank on the TB spacer...

Default the spacer

mike its about an inch and a half square made of some kind of brown fiber 1/8 of an inch thick have know idea where it came from so I just said the hell with it after taking the fan hydro pump off for the forth bloody time! well I'll be able to do this in my sieep the next time!!!!!

Sounds like the cover gasket. Just keeps the water out if thats what it is.
