Default Rebuilding the 1UZ-FE to 5.0L

I was thinking about rebuilding my engine in my 92 SC400...it has 300,000 miles on it...to many miles my rings are shot...well im going to keep the heads and the block and intake manifold...i wanna do a 5.0L stroker motor with 11.1:1 compression. bigger valves and ported and polished heads...bigger cams and ported intake manifold..i wanna do the works..ive been searching around this forum i found a website for a stroker kit and it didn't work i think it was too old or something..does anybody know where i can find one...im looking for all motor horsepower with some nitrous thrown on top of it...

help and inputs are appreciated..

thanks

chris

Talk to the owner of the Lextreme.com site - I'm sure he can get you any info you need or IF this is even possible.

The only retail kit that was ever made was the C's kit. Since C's went out of business, you'' have to find one though yahoo japan.

There was another guy named Jim Mead or Jim Meader that built a 5 liter 1uz. It's been awhile since he's posted here though.

Jims wasnt quite a 5.0L, he called it a SC490 or 4.9 Liter. I think that is the maximum you can port our small block V8 without damaging the block.

I would go for around 4.7L or 4.8L and make up the differenece in high cams and port polishing, etc.

Yeah, I too heard that the 1UZFE can only be bored out to around the 4.7L mark. I'd rebuild it to the original 4L specs and whack on a dirty big supercharger... mmmm... supercharged.

You can sleeve the block and use a Tundra crank...

i really wanna do this....it sounds like a good plan...i think im going to start riping out the motor in a month or so....i got some guys that are willing to custom make some rods and pistons for me...i just need to find some cams......i was talking to one of my buddies last night and he said try to get some stock cams that haven't been ground down yet for the stock lift and duration....is it possible to get some of these.....i wanna do a high compressions motor so when i pop the hood i want it to look stock... i just want nitrous for my power additive...

thanks

chris
