midpipe and exhaust selections for turbo app
Turbo kit should be in by end of this week so now I'm starting to think about my exhaust system. I didn't order a midpipe yet since i don't know if I want one or a high flow cat (random tech). I'm budgeting $600 (Is that enough) for the whole exhaust system including the midpipe and will be running dual exhaust.
1) Should I remove the cat and get a midpipe since my next emissions test is in two years?
2) Also, 3 in piping is the way to go but I don't know the best way to route it and I don't know what I would tell the exhaust shop either.
3) Is it recommended to get a muffler with a 3 in inlet (eliminating possiblitly of getting magna 14829's)?
4)Should I wait till I get my turbo installed or can I get my exhaust done now?
Help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Charles

Hey Charles,
You'll have a hard time getting everything for 600, even from a muffler shop. Single exhaust would be cheaper and is very easy to do on our cars. Apex'i N1 cans are a nice muffler for the car, look and sound good, flow well. Summit keeps them in stock now for ~200, and summit's resonators work well too and are cheap.
You can have the exhaust done anytime, putting a 3" on before the turbo you're gonna notice some low end power loss, but all the power will be there when the turbo goes on.
