Differences between Soarers

I'm about to purchase a Soarer and would like to know the differences between the years. The 91-95(6?) came with 1jz-gte TT non-vvti. The 96 and up come with Single T and vvti. What are the major differnces between those engines? Which one is easier to mod? Which one is more reliable? The car is going to be driven daily. And what are some places that sell performance parts for these car? I'm not in America, so shipping might be difficult.
Thanks a lot.

The non-VVTI has a LOOOT more options available as far as aftermarket part. Most ofthe stuff i see states in its description it wont work with the vvti. Also, the bottom end on the vvti is not as strong.

Not much aftermarket support for the VVTi 1JZ, a LOT more for the earlier 1JZ's.

Whereabouts are you?

I dont know of anyone with the vvt-i 1JZ in the states... So I wouldnt think there is much aftermarket support for them.
