Default stalling on start up

I have been having an intermittent stalling on start up problem on my SC300 1992 (190,000 miles) for the last 6 months. Since it was only occasionally doing this I just put up with it, car never left me stranded. Searched the car forums and came to the conculsion based on my symptoms that it was most likely the fuel pump ECU located in the back seat below the divers side back window panel. Easy to take out(approx 15 minutes). Found a used one from one of the junk yards on my side of town($40...great deal)Dealer wanted $325 for new one!!!!! Other junk yards wanted anywhere from $100-$150 for it which I felt was to much. I just made an offer on this one and the guy accepted. BTW the fuel pump ECU is the same for ANY of the SC's 300 or 400(1992-1999) The one I got came out of an SC400, same part. So far it is working like a charm. Just thought I would give you guys a heads up because I know alot of guys are having this problem and spending a ton of money on parts and dealership labor changing out crap that does not fix the problem. If you are having stalling on start up problems check out this solution. Good luck and ALWAYS wheel and deal with salvage parts! BTW i am finding more and more SC's in the junk yards these days. They are now getting older and finding their way into their final "Rest Homes".
