expensive repairs
i need some serious help finding good intelligent mechanics around my area... it seems wherever i go people are just breaking stuff off my car and generally returning it in worse shape.
my CEL went on after a timing belt change (code 13) and the car would jerk/hesitate under increased throttle. so i took it back to the shop and they told me it might have been an arcing spark plug wire... they checked it out and tried to tell me a bad torque converter was causing the engine to knock.. of course i didnt believe it. i had recently changed spark plugs and when i told him that he said the platinum +4 bosch plugs i bought could be worse for the car than the NGK plugs that were recommended, so i picked up 8 NGK laser platinums and after installing them im still getting retarded acceleration and a CEL. to make matters worse, ever since i got my car back after the belt change my low coolant light has been on with a full reservoir (to the brim) and my newly installed rebuilt PS pump has been whining like it hasnt been bled.
i only bought this car not even 3 weeks ago and already i spent half as much as i did for it to get it running right.. can anyone suggest anyone at all that i can take my car to around tampa who's reliable and knows how to recondition? wilde lexus of sarasota is looking like my only option pretty soon because im running out of money, ideas and patience
having said that.. i love this car. even with all of that its so incredibly smooth... passengers have no idea whats going on . its sort of like a 747 with an engine out :thumbup:
