Default Cruise control ECU

Does anyone know where the cruise control ECU is located? I never use it and having the actuator where it is is hindering other expansion so id like to just get rid of it
I could just pull the mechanical parts but why not shed another 5 lbs by pulling the ecu also. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hmmmm.....there is a small ECU right next to my main ECU which is hindering my AEM install.
I have yet to figure out what it is, but I'll let you know if that's the one.

It's important....I just can't remember what it was at the moment. Air Bags, ABS, Fuel? Can't remember, I just know that it was important.

Definitely not fuel, cuz that's behind the drivers seat.
I still haven't gotten a chance to look at it closely; been procrastinating on my AEM install.

If I'm not mistaken (it's been a while since I opened her up)

under passenger footwell = main ECU + ABS ECU

under steering colum behind the plastic shroud = power steering + cruise ECU

rear driver side = fuel ECU

under hood middle rear by firewall = TRAC ecu.

You are right - it is the ABS. My bad,

it's in the steering column area, black box, says 'speed control' on it
btw: it does not weigh 5lbs, more like 10oz

and the actuator weighs only 2 lbs or so, look in Dennis' part weight thread, i weighed mine, it's in there

i have more misc parts than i know what to do with...just a few more little things and some seats and ill have a whole interior =)
im sure you have more than ill ever have though..

in either case. Cruise actuator came out in about 5 minutes. Its nice having the extra space in there.
