SC400- "won't get out of its own way"!
Purchased my lst Lexus, 1992 SC400. She was running poorly when I got her; I blammed the 162,000 and noisy catylatic converter(s). Put all 3 new cats on today, and no real performance improvement... She came with an Injen intake, but other wise is stock..It has been suggested the FI needs looking into..Any help/info surley apprecciated. having owned/worked on (2) 280 Z's, I'm not bashful about learning about this new find...
ps. sure would like to buy some used repair manuals. fuel injection info would be nice. Its going to rain here on the west coast the next few days, Time to learn about SC400's, and get this puppy on the road..Thanks

162k on an Sc400 is like 30k on a ford truck, it's gravy. That car is just past it's teenager years and ready for adulthood. You have purchased a 400,000 mile car.
Even the earliest SC's (1992) are comparable to the early 90's Mustang 5.0's. so if it feels like a slug, something isn't right. FULL tuneup will run you a bit of $$$ but WELL worth it, let your Lexus dealer do it also. This is one of those times i actually do indeed suggest the stealer to do the work.
