turbo kit or 2jzgtte
Hi i have a 93 sc300 with 85000. I want to turo my car but i dont want to spend crazy money. I will be doing all the work my self. I was worndering how hard is it to put a 2jzgtte in a sc. ive heard it is hard. I would rather have a single turo any opinions. I also plan to redo the bottom end of my stock motor if i turbo it. finally what do u think is a fare price for a turbo kit i have found them for 4000 +.

If you plan to go turbo, even if a little further down the road, buying headers now would be a waste.
If you're going to turbo, saeve th emoney for a turbo.
If you decide to squeeze power out of an NA, go ahead and get the headers.
I was in this same situation with intake.
I knew I was going turbo sooner or later (turned out to be sooner) but wanted an Injen intake.
I just told myself that the intake would have to be thrown away once i gt my turbo on, and that $200+ could be spent in a better way.
So instead I ended up buying a SAFC since I knew i could get some power by using it right away, and then it would be needed when I get my turbo on.
Good luck wichever way you go.

go ahead with a compression check before anything else. If your compression is good, you should be okay with the turbo kit. If not, might as well do the GTE swap since a rebuild will be very expensive. Like SPORTcoupe said, headers and a full intake would be a waste, but if you want something now for the moment, go with something that can still b used later. i.e. intake filter without the pipe (that will save you the heatsoak of an aluminum pipe anyway) or an exhaust. Its quite possible the biggest gains at the NA power level that would still be usable later would be an s-afc or the like. Gains with an intake arent much anyway.
