Default labor rate to install Torque Converter

I need to have a TC installed. Anyone know the labor hours to do this or remember what you paid to have it done?

Expect a 3-4hr charge. Its about the same as a tranny swap. $350 - $400 depending on labor rates.

I've read that if you go to a transmission shop that they could do it for less.

dont beleive it, they will rape you. nothing tranny related can be done for less, except a fluid change.

I've changed a clutch in a MK3 turbo which required removing the transmission. Are there any special concerns for R&I of the automatic transmissions or any lexus specific things I should know? Any write-ups on the subject? I'm going to search now.

Its always good being friends with the mechanic First time I got my fuel sensor repalced it cost me $50, turned out to be a defective part on my part , so I told him to get a new one, and he charged me $20 to change it the second time Also he charged me only $50 to remove a huge dent from my rear quarter panel.

Basically, the point is that you should shop around
