Default electric fans low budget setup???

i want to do an electric fan conversion on my 92 sc300, my fan shroud is broken and i might as well spend that money on an electric fan conversion. been thinking about doing this for some time now. but i was wondering if i can use a stock oem fan of some other cars, instead of dishing out the big bucks for a FAL one??? any wiring diagrams?? dual or single setup?? which one to go with?? push or pull type??thanks for any help

Intellexual covers this in their FAQ. They recommend the Flex-a-lite 210 but a friend of mine has a MKIV Supra. He bought two 12" E. fans from the local auto parts store and wired them into the aux. AC fan wiring. I plan to do the same but haven't had a chance to dig into it yet so that's all I can give you for now.

Im using electric fans on my koyo radiator. The setup is a dual fan that is connected to a relay which is connected to my "ACC" position to the ignition. The fans are VERY LOUD, just thought that i'd warn you first. However, i would not trade the electric fans in for the stock ones. I love this setup.

Kaotiq is right about the fans being loud. I have the flexalite 210's and they take some getting used to.

Pull types are far superior, a push type should only be used as a last resort.

It isn't necessary, but our radiators are large and require a dual set-up for maximum cooling efficiency. Our cars do not hold civic sized radiators. If you are planning on running your car to the max, I would have to say "yes, it is necessary."
