LSD Swap Questions correcting the speedometer?
Now that I have finally located a LSD for my SC400 I am rekindling this thread. Surely someone can tell me how to correct the speedometer once the LSD is installed. Not only will this make the speedo register faster than you are going, but in addition this is going to rack up more miles on the cars odometer which is uncool. Does any one have a fix? What is this “yellow box” and where would I get it?

It will work. We have the same casing, so just switched out the internals. If that is the case, I guess you can just do a direct bolt on. He said the speedo will be the same. LMK>still for sale.

Well a easy way to find out is jack the rear up and drop it in gear if the speedo goes then its in the Tranny if not its up front. I'll try to do this tomorrow and Ill let you know. If it is in the tranny I still have a dilemma, If I change the gears how do I correct the speedo?

correct the speedometer?
Now that we have that settled, Back to the question
How can I change my rear-end gear ratio and correct the speedometer?
Has any one done this? I have tried searching, no luck.

there is a device call a yellow box, change the speedo signal.. speedo will look the same after the diff change over, however your actual speed will be different.
I gain about 5 mph more with the lower gear ratio diff however my spedo shows the same speed as before. Reason i know is because there is this speed check thing on the street, it shows your speed. before I change over , the machine shows the same speed as on the speedo. after change over, machine shows 5mph more then on the speedo.

I would think this thread would be in the suspension/handling section of the forum, nonetheless...
You need a lsd from an auto tt supra 94-98. They all had lsd's untill 97-98, where it was an option. Mine is a helical type from a 94TT. I swapped the entire diff housing. It's a bolt on project where you don't have to rebuild the rear end, and mic and set everything up. it was a couple hours job in the driveway. unbolt the driveshaft/ both axles/ and take out the mounts that hold it in, and reverse to install it. It's easy and changes the driveability dramatically.
By the way, there are no speed sensors in the diff, there are no abs sensors...I don't know exactly what you all were talking about cos i didn't take the time to read. just get a LSD from automatic mkiv supra and bolt it in, everything works perfectly.
