Hardwire Digital 12V Speedo/Clock
I cannot stand the analog clock on the NX and I've always wanted a digital speedometer. Finally found one that is descent looking (Amazon) and is also a digital clock. Best thing is that it does not require an OBD connector (GPS based) and comes with cigarette lighter adaptor to power. I do have a couple of questions, if anyone can chip in that would be awesome.
1. I want to hardwire but want to get some clarification first. If I cut the cigarette lighter adaptor, split wires, I can tap into a fuse for power w/ignition? If so, what amp fuse should I use? Any input on which fuse to use? I plan on grounding it to a nearby metal screw down by the fuse box. Should be pretty straight forward and I feel confident I can do this myself.
2. No need for a 12V to 5V converter since I this unit draws power from 12v cigarette lighter correct? (unlike devices with micro USB for power). I should be receiving it tomorrow along with the fuse tap needed.
