Shark fin antenna vs. parking garage door
If you live in a condo with a sensored garage door, please wait before entering. Our parking garage was open when I thought it was safe when I drove in but it started to close just as it caught the end of my car and damaged the shark fin atenna.
Any thoughts on what this may cost at the lexus dealership (Toronto/GTA) to repair or should I just find the piece online and try to do it myself?
I'm scared of snow/water damage, I was thinking of just duct taping the damage until I have it fixed.
So sad, I'm beating myself up for this.

Ouch, what a first post
Welcome aboard.
I did a quick search and someone mentioned $1200 repair from the dealer.
This was for GX though, but you can get a general ballpark.

I would definitely find a temporary way to waterproof and get a replacement from the dealer.
I would diy, you'll have to get access under the headliner since the antenna is screwed underneath.

As long as the metal around it doesn't look bent it is an easy fix. For me I only needed the cover which was $50, looks like you will need the whole antenna and cover so it's about another $200 I think. You can unbolt the antenna by first removing the center baby seat anchor cover on the roof. The shark fin is attach with a single 10mm bolt. Then just take off the connector and replace antenna with new one. There is a rubber gasket that comes with the new cover and goes between the car and antenna. It really isn't too bad to do.

Wife was backing out of the garage and the door didn't open up all the way as it usually does. It was above her line of view It damaged the fin antenna and dented the roof. Headliner had to be partially dropped in order to get to the fin bolt.

Update!
I checked DIY video and I don't have the tools nor skill to confidently try it myself haha. I called the auto repair shop where I used to get oil changes and my Lexus dealership for the estimated costs. I went with my auto shop bc the price was $1200 vs the price of just parts.
They ordered the two pieces from Lexus since it's only available from them direct and got it done in 20 minutes. All for $300 and they didn't charge me for labour. They also buffed out the scratches from the garage pro bono! Woohoo . I got a friend of a friend of mine who is a mechanic to check it out and said they did a solid job.
Thanks everyone! ❤️
