How to remove the top plastic cover of sharkfin antenna
I dented my NX300 sharkfin antenna cover. How do I remove the cover?
It doesn't seem glued down but held by some clips. Don't want to damage surface of roof or break the clips. I don't want to remove the full antenna (many removal guides online) but just the plastic cover on top. Please help. Thanks |

Will the antenna get disconnected or affect the warranty ? Is there a video available for the suggested method
"you have to go through the rear baby seat anchor access hole and remove the bolt holding the antenna in, then you can take out the whole antenna assembly and separate the antenna and the cover" |

Thanks. Is it possible to remove the sharkfin cover from outside. The antenna is working fine, only the cover has slight damage.

Sure. The other thread seems to suggest creating a new opening in the headliner. I am not that handy but can try through existing child seat anchor housing. Wondering if there is an existing video to refer who has done it already.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/nx-...l#post10968731 "The black bolt you see retains the anchor to the roof. When I reach into the headliner opening toward the passenger side of the vehicle, I can feel the cable and connector about 2 inches away. I might be wrong, but I do not think it will be possible to attempt a repair through that opening. I would simply purchase another identical access panel (probably $15 - $20 from Lexus, $5 - $10 from Toyota for a RAV4), cut a new opening in the headliner, and mount it directly under the antenna connector/bolt." |
honesty a video won't really help you much, look at the pictures, once you get the bolt off and the plastic housing of the anchor off you will clearly see the bolt and plug for the antenna. There is really nothing to it.
