Default Front window defrosting time

To my fellow Canadians (or other people who are in cold climate), how do you all defrost your windshield?

When there is minor ice on the windshield, sometimes I feel lazy and don't scrap it all off with my scraper. I usually scrape a small window safe enough for me to drive and let the front defroster button do the job.

But what I have found is that the hot air that comes out near the front windshield does not effectively reach the far ends and the upper half of the windshield and I still end up with ice after 30 minute of solid driving. My old Civic handled defrosting better during winter months. I am liking everything about my NX except for this design of the car. Is this everyone's experience or is there something with my NX?

After spending the first 54 years of my life in New York City, New Fairfield, Connecticut, and Marlboro, New Jersey, (and freezing my A## off), I have the solution to your problem!!

MOVE TO SOUTH FLORIDA! !!!!!

LOL Just kidding. Unfortunately, most cars may not have exactly the same problem, but not defrosting the entire windshield is a pretty common problem in really cold weather. I never solved the problem, I just got out and scraped the windshield when it happened, all the while cursing the auto engineers that couldn't solve the problem!
