I'll update as it develops.

The money they make on warranty is less than they make on normal repairs to consumers. Some dealers resent warranty work as they could be deploying their staff on more profitable jobs (assuming a full shop).

NX scored a 10/10 on mechanical on JD Dependability rating However, only 5 on features/control.

I really don't get how JR classifies size of vehicles.

They call ES 350 a "compact car" and the Toyota Corolla is also classified as "compact car". True, they call the ES "premium", but really? Corolla and ES and both called compact?
