Default How much difference in ride quality between 18", 19" and 20" wheels?

Hello from Italy! I'm getting a second hand NX next week and since I'm a sucker for wheels i immediately want to swap 18" wheels for 19" or even better 20" wheels.
How much deterioration in ride quality and comfort can I expect?
And by the way what offset is recommended for 20" wheels so I don't get any rubbing?
Grazie!

Congratulations on your new car bro!

Usually, going a bigger size for wheels give some harshness to the ride quality, but not enough to be real noticeable

We actually have forum specials going on for wheels! I can definitely help you on your wheel hunt haha

Feel free to PM me or contact me personally anytime brotha

Thanks
-Nick

My heart is set on 20" factory OEM wheels from RX F-Sport. I can't find them in Europe (except for bloody expensive Lexus dealers). Can you ship them to Italy?

That's what I'm eyeing on too... I may just call the dealer tomorrow and ask about pricing, it won't be cheap I'd imagine.

Still looking for answers as to difference in ride quality from people who have upgraded in size. I guess not many have done it?

I also can't source '16+ F-Sport 20" wheels anywhere in Europe except Lexus dealership.

Does any company make replicas of Lexus wheels?

I have the 20 inch OEM rx f sport wheels on mine. No noticeable difference in ride quality to be honest and they look so much better than the stock 18s. Tires are supposed to make a difference too but mine are decent firestone firehawk GT (245 45 20). Couldn't find the wheels used and didn't want to go for replicas so I just saved up and bought straight from dealer. $425 CAD per rim. Centre caps weren't included so i just took them off my 18s. Also TPMS were not included as well so those were about $50 each but im sure you can get them for a better price outside of dealer.

That's perfect, thanks. I'm getting the same titanium color NX.

The price for one 20" wheel here in Italy is €650 which is $760 US. That's more than double you paid in Canada.

At this point it's cheaper for me to find the wheels in US and ship them overseas, pay the import duties and STILL come out cheaper than ordering them at the local Lexus dealer here in Italy. What a crazy world we live in.

But I can't even find them in US so I'm desperate at this point.

I found only these for $819 US for a set of four (are they replicas?) but the guy won't ship them to Italy even when I offered 50 % over the asking price to him: http://r.ebay.com/R3H5Ng

The thinner the sidewall, the harder the ride. Never rode an actual NX, but my previous IS had stiff suspensions. Wouldn't have gone with bigger wheel size.

Yeah those are replicas (says aftermarket wheels in description). Be careful with buying replicas though because not only is the paint finish/colour sometimes off from the OEMs but also the build quality
