Brakes new NX
Just bought a new NX drove it off the lot Saturday night. Noticed immediately the brakes were pulsating badly. Brought it in Tuesday they said the rotars needed to be replaced which they did. Why would this happen on a brand new car???
Sales person said if a car sits in the lot for a while that could happen.
They offered to take the car and give me another new one...
not sure why this would happen and what to do.

You sure what you bought is actually new? If they are offering to replace the car then I'd do that drive it first before accepting.

Does it drive and brake fine now? If not, I'd take another new one!
Don't believe what salesperson says.
i assume rotors were warped from crazy test drive or factory defect.

Yes it drives fine now. But I also wonder what could have caused this and to start off needing such a drastic repair just seems crazy with a brand new car!

They were probably warped from the factory... Most rotors are coming from china now. I can't tell you how many times I have purchased rotors and they were warped. I had to buy 3 OEM Mercedes rotors for our w211 before I got one that wasn't warped. It was factory coated and never used... it was annoying, especially putting it on the car and spinning it and seeing it slightly wobble...
If the rotors fixed the issue why exchange the entire vehicle..lol

First off, name that dealer or appreciate the fact that a dealer even suggested they offer you a fresh from the factory replacement vehicle for your new with 15 miles on the clock odometer. Most dealers kinda wash their hands off stuff like this and will do the replacement of rotors and/or pads as its the logical cost effective thing to do after a vehicles been titled and driven off the lot. If they would simply redo the sale on a new vehicle for freee, I`d take the new one. However, they may have gotten a bit too excited there without telling you more details. if the rotor is warped etc, might be the case, you just are the 1% of the 1% mfg defect issue on the rotors. If its fixed, like the new rotor doesnt meet the same fate etc, then be on your way and enjoy. If they offer a new model no out of pocket costs, I`d surely lean towards that, but again the OP post just posts a cliffnotes version of details

Thanks for the response. The dealer was extremely nice and forthcoming and willing to give me a new one no additional fees etc.
yes, part of me is willing to just keep the fixed one (they put on new rotars) Tuesday and I have the car. Have to let them know today which way I’m deciding.

Your car had 15 miles on it and the rotors are warped. This possibly could happen when car was prepared for release. For example, service guy took car to fill up gas tank, drove it with very hard braking and then, straightaway run it through a car wash. Cold water splashed on hot rotors will do "wonders". Here is you warping miracle.
Since dealer replaced rotors, you are set for long and nice drive. No worries.
